Welcome back, INVESTOR!

I had the pleasure of speaking with Jonah Weingarten (video above) who is not only a dividend investor but he happens to play symphonic metal keyboard in a few bands too!

During our chat, he mentioned how he likes to invest in other people’s habits.

The examples he gave were Starbucks (SBUX) and Visa (V), as people have developed caffeine and spending habits that we can invest in.

As you may or may not know, my 16-year-old daughter plays travel volleyball.

During day 1 of a tournament yesterday, I noticed all the candy, coffee, and fast food, in particular McDonald’s (MCD) that was being consumed.

So immediately I thought of all the different products or services that pay a dividend that people regularly buy, use, and replace.

Some that came to mind were

  • Hershey’s (HSY), for all the candy they sell
  • PepsiCo (PEP), for the Doritos and soda
  • Altria (MO), because of smoking, duh!
  • Apple (AAPL), as we’re all screen addicts
  • ExxonMobil (XOM), although I saw a few Tesla (TSLA) cars, the majority were still gas guzzlers.

Of course, I could go on and on and list dozens more companies, but then you wouldn’t have a reason to hit reply and let me know what business (dividend paying or not) you think is a great habitual use investment.

And yes, dear dividend investing reader, by continually looking for these businesses to invest in, we are also forming another habit.

But at least that’s a habit that (hopefully) will pay healthy and growing dividends to make our portfolios fat!

😁Special THANK YOU to the (8) people who responded to the last newsletter!!

That said, let’s get to the moves made this week. And remember, you can always check out the PORTFOLIOS, the PODCAST, or see what’s cooking on the YouTube channel.
